Looks like City's goal is the only hole that won't let Van Persie penetrate......... oh wait.

and the santos-barca game. Looked like Neymar regretted his decision to extend with Santos. He'll be away from there real fast. And the Russian Czar of London wants to break bank on him...

Newcastle United target defender Chris Samba
Dec 18 2011 by Mark Douglas, Sunday Sun

ALAN PARDEW wants a Brit-based defender to replace Steven Taylor this January – and Newcastle are weighing up a move for Chris Samba.
Samba’s current asking price of £10m would be too much, but United might hope to exploit uncertainty at Blackburn and take him for nearer £7m.
Samba would certainly be keen on the move and, while it would take a significant outlay from owner Mike Ashley, the Sunday Sun has been told there IS cash to spend on the right player.
The giant 6ft 4in defender certainly has his admirers at St James’ Park and, while it was assumed that United would continue to look overseas for their replacement for Taylor, Pardew is desperate to land a player with top-flight experience.
The Sunday Sun understands United have been offered both Lyon’s Aly Cissokho and Birmingham’s Curtis Davies in recent days.
United wanted Cissokho in the summer, but would not pay Lyon’s asking price and much will depend on whether a package can be put together that appeals.
“It’s a world market but centre-half is a key position and you’ve got to be sure about what you’re getting in that position,” said Pardew.
“It’s a position that gets highlighted in the Premier League – as (Chelsea defender) Luiz is finding out.

“It’s not a case of having to go in and convince (Mike Ashley).
“The last time we met he said: ‘When are you going to get a centre half?’
“He understands the game, perhaps more so than people realise.
“Maybe not on a technical basis but he knows how it works – he knows we need a defender and we’ll try to get one in.
“He’s been excited by the season so far and he’s looking forward to this next period of games.”
United will now be forced to move on to new striker targets after Modibo Maiga’s move fell through after a problem with the medical.
The Mali forward’s representatives insist that he is medically sound, but the Sunday Sun understands there was an issue with a knee injury which caused concern.
A source close to the deal proclaimed it “dead” – and said there was no chance of it being resurrected.
United had already assembled a hit list of targets that includes Luuk de Jong of FC Twente and Lille’s Moussa Sow, who are both keen to move to Tyneside.
The club are keen on Wilfred Zaha of Crystal Palace but a St James’ Park insider described talk of a £10million bid as “pure fantasy”.
Newcastle have sent scouts to watch Palace on several occasions, and would also like Nathaniel Clyne to replace Danny Simpson – if the former Manchester United man can’t agree a new deal.

Carrick's goal at the weekend was amazing considering he never scores. Seems like he's stepped it up this season a bit hopefully he can score more.

Wenger admits Arsenal cannot win 1980 cup final
19-12-11
ARSENE Wenger has conceded that his team is now unlikely to win the FA Cup final that took place almost 32 years ago.

The Arsenal manager has admitted to the club's board that with his current squad he does not feel able to travel three decades back in time and destroy Trevor Brooking.

He is now turning his attention to the faster than light neutrino research at the CERN Institute to see if it can assist him in bettering a fourth-place finish in the 1979-80 Division One championship.

Wenger said: "We are still developing as a team and have a lot of young, promising players but I think it's time to admit we can't stop Trevor Brooking scoring an unlikely header from the edge of the six yard box.

"We have been very unlucky with the linear nature of time and the lack of a brutal dictator in England for the last three decades willing to rewrite history in Arsenal's favour.
"But it would need a Michael Thomas-style miracle to win the '80 cup final given that there is now minus 16,611,840 minutes to go."

Arsenal are still holding out hopes for their chances in the 1986 New Faces talent show final against Duggie Small, hotly-tipped by bookies to win because he did, 25 years ago.

But Wenger said he would now focus on building a team around a combination of Gervinho's fascinating forehead and the comedy stylings of Van Persie's insistence he won't leave the club as soon as Manchester City send a taxi for him.

I have never wanted to see a team fail as much as i do Man City. The manager, team and fans are complete w@nkers with no class or dignity.

By the way, how do you define class and dignity? Can you go to a football match and have class and dignity, or is that why you never go?

I am a very calm guy and rarely swear.

when I go to the football I am usually shouting all sorts usually at the referee.

hour after the game I am my usual self.

Having someone from the other team celebrate infront of me makes me contemplate stabbing him in the bloody eye with a sharp knife.
