    Carrick should have been an England regular from 2008 onwards. It's bizarre that's he's never been able to get a proper run in the team.

    He's only got about 10 more caps than Jermaine Jenas for ***s sake!

      I think Carrick has been overlooked because the others that are in his position are typical English players. Run about a lot, put last ditch tackles in and look busy protecting the back four. Carrick is too calm continental for England.

          In 2008-2009, when United were the best team in Europe, Carrick was their best player that wasn't a diving Portuguese Phaggot.

          He never quite reached those heights again but his style was better suited to international football than any other English midfielder, yet he rarely got his chance.

          I think his best days are behind him and he shouldn't be in the first team now, but he really should have twice as many caps as has got.
