[PLEASE HELP] Is A 60GB PS3 Worth Buying?

I really want a 60GB PS3. So I can play all my old PS2 games aswell as my curren games. But due to them being discontinued, they will cost me alot of money, even do it's a second hand one.

But is it worth it? How good are the 60GB PS3'S?

    Thanks

Dude just buy a PS3 slim. I pretty much never play my PS2 games. If you really want to play PS2 games just get another PS2 for about $100. Its not worth paying $500-$600 for an original 60GB.

Definitely NOT worth it. it wont play the ps2 games right anyway. believe it or not PS2 games look ALOT better on a PS2 then they on a PS3. PS1 games look ok, but like left2body said, you're better off spending the $100 on a PS2. and buying a slim. i paid $450 for my original almost 2 years ago and ended up buying another PS2 at a pawnshop for $50

The only ps2 game I played on my launch PS3 was Socom which I kept playing on and off for about 6 months after PS3 launch. Other than that 2/3 the use of my PS3 for the first year was blu-ray movies.

Sony should just allow sale of the PS2 on the PSN store for download, you can pay the retaail value of a PS2 threw the PS3 store and download a patch that enables you to play PS2 games so that now all PS3's can be backward compatible, they would also be able to add PS2 games to the PSN network, that would be ****in great

Don't spend more money on a 60g original. If you can get one cheaper than one of the newer ones, cool go for it, but I have the original 60g, you never end up playing ps2 games on it... occasionally they look blocky and gross, don't know if thats the ps3s fault or if thats just how the games look these days. 60g gets used up quick if you use your ps3 as a multimedia station. Also i'm having problems with mine right now... the lazer wants to read ps2 and dvd, but has trouble during blue ray and ps3 games. I dunno if it needs a lazer cleaning or if i have to get it serviced, it works eventually but requires several loads...

Don't spend extra money on the original, the backwards compatability doesn't justify it. Just buy a PS2 off of ebay or something super cheap.

It doesn't do wide screen which isn't too bad. SOmetimes they look fine, sometimes they look blocky/grainy/smudgey. I had one game that had a split second delay in it, but that was one game out of 50 or so... i think it was GT4 don't remember for sure though.

Don't get me wrong, the games look fine, i think they just look a little better on a ps2
