PS3 was created as an offline console. You can look at the sales, throw as much hardware in it, you can give it a Hemi Engine with 1200000000 Gigs of HD space, but it still won't sell. The future is online, and the Xbox 360 dominates online. It was created with Online play in mind. The dashboard, online chatting system and just the set up period murders the Playstation's. I remember that whole chain letter going around "Forward this to all your friends, Make Xbox Live Free!" Why would you want a service that you pay for to be free? That would be like going from World of Warcraft to Runescape. It's just the facts - If you take the fee away, you lose Customer Support and your quality. You can't argue that PS3's Online is better because it's free. You can argue that it's free, but it is in no way better.
That's like not paying for insurance and claiming it's the best because it's free. Awesome, but what happens when someone cracks your ass and you need money? Nothing happens, because you get what you pay for.
IMO all around better titles (Check the ratings) and better online play make the Xbox 360 the better out of both of these incredible systems.
