If you're doing weights from a routine made by your school usually by some clueliess idiot, I would be slow too

Don't do weights unless you know what you're doing.

Weights two days in a row = usually not a good idea. That said, even if you're doing weights the right way, sometimes you'll be less than 100% the next day. It's a fine line.

          Try this

95lb bench press, 10 reps explosively

          wait 30 seconds

          10 more reps explosively

          30 seconds

          10 more reps explosively

          30 seconds

          10 more reps explosively

          30 seconds

          10 more reps explosively.

          use 10's instead of 25's if you're a youngin.

finish off with 2 sets of explosive clap pushups and 3 sets of regular pushups done until muscular fatigue, explosively

that kind of lifting will get you sore, define your chest, train your central nervous system to exert more muscle fibers when you throw shots, and not detract from your punching speed. Don't listen to that football coach (Unless he's showing you how to do olympic lifting with lighter weights, then you might want to pay attention to what he's saying about technique- other than that don't listen to his weightlifting advice if you plan on boxing)

oh and I feel you about being stiff from running. coach had our entire team run to the levi and back (bout 2 miles) when me and this other guy got there first he thought we cheated but we didnt, he had us run it again. 2nd time around we were tired so we ran for like 4 blocks then would walk for 1 ,then run again. Guy that was leadin the pack with me was a runningback when he played ball so that explains his running ability. my calves were so sore from doing that the next day when I was working the bag the coach was telling me to dance more and because of my sore legs it was tougher than normal to move quickly like I usually do! I'm usually pretty quick on my feet for a big man but those long runs take something out of me the next day. its normal.

if you're talking about doing it all in the same day,my advice is to always do bag work first, and weights or running afterwards. otherwise youll feel like a total bum on the bag,..Less energy, less power, run out of gas quicker, etc. less fluid.

When's your fight? You'll repair from that completely and be stronger within 3-5 days max, so as long as it's six or more days away you'll be fine

depends on the gym, if its a 2 hour a day thing and your time is limited i'd focus on working the heavybag first then speedbag, and then go back to the heavy bag....

we all run at the gym sometimes, but only when the coach tells us to. I run at home, and jump rope at home
