i have chronic sinusitis myself. i'll probably go in for surgery this year but i need to pick the right spot so i can take the time to recover. surgery has about a 25-50% rate of recurrence. my answer would be "yes but..."

you'll have trouble breathing out of your nose at times, with one or both nostrils getting plugged, and in boxing you'll only be breathing with your mouth when you punch and through holes in your mouthpiece. you know that hissing sound fighters make somtimes? that will be you. if you have your mouth open to breath you will get hurt. teeth, jaw, just getting your bell unnecessarily rung, you need to bite your moouthpiece to prevent this

you'll also be hugely aggravating your sinuses when you take blows to the eye and nose area. and if you break your nose and it deviates your septum it will probably make your issues a whole lot worse.

talk to a doctor, dude. this is, uh, boxingscene.

my immediate reaction would be no. you can train, but you shouldn't try to make a pro career out of it. go pro in something else and make boxing a hobby. or try amateur boxing, where you will not be in long fights and you'll have big gloves and headgear.

What weight class? 28 is a bit of a late start.

A guy was a pro boxer with a metal plate in his head.

You can be a boxer with sinus problems. It will suck but if that's what you want. So be it.

I also have chronic sinusitis. It is so bad that I can't even touch my nose. The second I touch my nose, I start sneezing like 100 times. For years, I tried to battle with it. Took lots of medicines but now even the doctor says that only surgery is an option. But I don't want that because I am scared and also, it is not a 100% cure chance. So, I gave up my idea of doing professional boxing. Initially I was sad but now I just enjoy watching other people do boxing. I have found my happiness in that.

But Edwin Valero had a metal plate in his head from a motorcycle accident and still boxed lol

It was actually why he couldnt get licensed in the states.

At heavyweight there have been guys who started that late, but I think it's not advisable in lower weights
