I can see skipping rope and running as beneficial, but what is it about having strong legs And hips? How is this supposed to help you throw a punch better or slip for example. That’s all technique.

Don’t work on legs unless you want to be flat footed as well.
Pac should give motivation in leg work outs to all. Punching power + movement

Don't get confused and think "strong" has to be "muscular". Calves are genetic. Their size won't matter. What you want is strength from training so you won't fatigue.
Your punches come from the legs but it's NOT about the strength of the legs. It's the TECHNIQUE used in the legs, and hips, shoulders, etc.

An example, of how it helps is when you're throwing a right hook or straight you are utilizing your hips and lower body to generate power.
If you weren't using your hips and were only using your arms then you are going to have significantly less power in your punches. That's just a simple example.
I hope this helped!

because footwork is one of the most important things in boxing?
Do you not know how important positioning is, closing the distance to attack or stepping back to avoid punches is? Or you can step back or step forward to throw a punch at an optimal range. Or step back to counter, or step back to create range step in to land.
Boxing is like 3/4 positioning.
Combination punching also requires footwork.Last edited by llll; 12-17-2019, 01:16 AM.

Power mostly comes from your core, torso, deltoid and a little from your arms
Your legs just give you balance and steady your mass to transfer the power you generate form your core, torso etc.
When i throw punches, I can feel the engagement in my thighs, but that's just to steady and hold my mass for the impact I generate. My legs themselves are not generating power.Last edited by llll; 12-17-2019, 01:57 AM.
