    16:8 intermittent fasting

anybody else here does IF 16:8 and trains fasted? I've been doing it on and off the entire year last year in between my pre bout trainings and this year my training has been upped to 2 to 3 hrs each. do you train this long fasted and if so.. what helps you not feel nauseous ?

Training for 3 hours while fasted is a little rough.

Maybe change your 8 hour feeding window to a time that better coincides with your workout days.

Yeah. I do workouts while fasted but they are very short and not cardio intensive.

I've done IT as its just been my eating schedule for the past few years with work.

I generally have 1 cup of coffee before I do my morning runs (which are 30-50 mins) between 8-9am. I will often go to the gym around 11:30 and then have my first meal when I get home.

On Saturdays I used to train fasted for 2-3 hours (including sparring) from 10-1pm, but found I would feel like I was running on empty by the end of it. I now put a "phat fudge" into my coffee Saturday mornings and eat some oats if I wake up early enough. Generally rehydrating is my main concern though. The phat fudge helps. Its kind of expensive per serving but really gives good clean energy. Often times I'll go straight to lift after these saturday morning sessions before eating lunch.

really depends on many things. fasted cardio is supposed to force your body to burn fat instead of glucose, or what you ate last. If your body is not adjusted to burning fat for fuel, you're gonna crash when you run out of food fuel. Also if you have very low body fat % to begin with, you might not have enough there to run on. How many hours between your last food intake and your workout? Are you fasting to loose weight? Do you feel like your running out of energy or just getting an upset stomach part way through your workout?

Honestly, its expensive. Almost too expensive per serving to justify using it lol, but it works for sustained focus and energy (all natural ingredients, keto friendly, and only 200 calories).

I keep it in the freezer, put it in my black coffee and love it.
