    List training methods that can be used to increase punching power



    Post your best training tips/methods and advice to increase punching power!

    From what I have researched over the past few days
    -Heavy bag punching practise (obviously)
    -Working on technique and form
    -Using the speed bag since more speed means more power
    -Weight training - mainly legs, and shoulders to drive more power into punches
    -Hardening your knuckles by hitting metal surfaces

    Plyometrics are really good for power and explosiveness. Depth jumps, box jumps, barbell squat jumps, etc.

    You can also do plyometrics with a medicine ball to work on power. Medicine ball slams, medicine ball overhead throws, side tosses, chest tosses, etc.

    Footwork drills are also good for speed and conditioning. Use an agility ladder. Your hands and feet both need to be fast as they work in conjunction with each other.

      Not sure about that last one. Kind of defeats the purpose of using wraps and gloves when working the bags.
