    Ring Ground Too Loose

I'm generally on my toes, training to stay outside and pick with my 1s, 2s, and body jab.
I train this way on matts easily moving but when I step into the ring I feel like stuck to the mud bcz the ground is too spongy and can't really bounce on it.
Is that really a disadvantage for outside boxers to even complain about? I remember Fury vs Klitcshko had some almost serious problems bcz the ring was too soft for Fury.

I get that too, and my calves tire quickly on training ring padding. On cement, my footwork is far, far better. That's one of the reasons it's good to shadowbox in the ring when it's empty. Get used to the feel and strengthen the legs.

you'll get used to it.....our home ring is like that too...seems like quick sand

road work, squats, legs lifts, and heel lifts will help

        I feel your pain

Yea, my coach used to always get on me, "The ring is empty, why aren't you in there shadowboxing?? "
I'd tell him that I hated it because it was exhausting to try to move around on that spongy mat. And he'd reply, "That's why you need to be in there."

Redd Foxx hit the nail on the head, I even used to jump rope in there.
