Good/Efficient Heavybag?

Moving into a new place on sunday, and just my luck, there is an empty garage! Im looking for a punchbag that lasts a while, isnt toooo heavy but isnt too light, Its gotta hang from the wooden framing in the garage, i assume this is ok? anyone else done so?

Price isnt too much of an issue, but would appreciate some links to good bags, thanks all the best!

Honestly if its just you hitting the bag it should last a long time.

For my own house I personally like the water filled bags. There easy on your hands and wrists, easy to transport and move around if needed, there smaller and feel lighter than other bags, but they don't fly all over the place because the water absorbs the punches so well.

And a lot of times those cloth ones are too damn stiff and take forever to break in especially if your the only one hitting them. Water ones just feel good to hit.

I've recently set up s Home Gym in my garage. I placed both a speed bag and an 80lb heavy bag as part of my workout equipment; so yes, it is very possible to do so.

what I did was buy an 80lb Everlast heavy bag from Sports Authority. (as of right now, they have a 100lb one for sale, so you might want to look into that one.)

It came with the chains to hang it up, but I needed to buy some sort of device to place on the wooden beam on the ceiling. I ended up buying an eye screw that was tested to withstand 200lbs and it worked out perfectly.

I would personally install a tear drop bag if your looking around 80lbs.

They can be filled to be quite hard as you'll set it at a height where you strike the base and middle bag mainly. You can use a variety of shots and combinations and it feels more realistic than a normal cylindrical bag.

Obviously very limiting though.

I suppose you could build a hanging tyre bag but it probably wouldn't be worth the effort of money in the end.

Thanks for your input guys but still not sure haha, i love training my body shots and getting as much power in them as possible and the aquas' don't seen long enough, may just get a bag

Simple way around that is use a long chain. If you want to focus on body shots you drop it down and working head shots you lift it. They need to make a double teardrop imo though. I'd take a water filled bag over anything else.
