Through out the years we have seen fighters like James Toney, Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley, and Arturo Gatti fight in weight classes below their natural weight. They would deplete themselves 15, 20, and in some cases 30 pounds, and in the 27 - 30 hours between the weigh in, and the actual fight they would rehydrate themselves 12, 15, 20, and even 25 pounds.
Now we have here lets just call him fighter X. Fighter X starts his training camp at 160 pounds, and sweats down all the way 140 pounds. Fighter X struggles, but he just makes the 140 LB contract weight limit. Now in the next night Fighter X only rehydrates himself 4 -5 pounds at best.
My question is simple. Is it possible to sweat down all that way, and only rehydrate yourself 4, or 5 pounds?
I don't think that this is possible. I think the guy would have at least put on 10 easy. No drugs, or medicines are involved here.
I have heard stories of Rid**** Bowe in his rematch with Andrew Golota depleting a lot of weight, and Muhammad Ali depleting a lot of weight to fight Larry Holmes, but in those two cases they used Metabolism medications.
I have heard stories of Oscar De La Hoya depleting himself of significant weight to make 147 LBs to fight Manny Pacquiao to which De La Hoya could only rehydrate himself 2 pounds, but in this instance the word ******* also gets thrown around.
I am talking doing this without medicine, or drugs.
