I've started doing some neck excercises to strengthen my neck a bit and I don't want to shell out for a harness. I've been doing some neck bridges (holding for 10 secs) and have been wondering if any of you have any other good excercises I can do

Best neck excercises without harness?

You don't need a harness. Just take some old headbands if you have any and tie a string on to them. Attach a dumbbell to the other side of the string (or a weight plate kettle bell, something the headbands can handle). Then just bend over and use your neck to life the weights.Last edited by 2ofEverything; 12-16-2014, 10:52 PM.

I started with neck bridges on the floor with a towel on the ground but now I prefer doing planks with my head on a bench or chair. Just use your arms to support however much weight your neck can't while making sure you neck is doing as much work as possible. You can work your neck from every angle by doing this, front, back, and each side.
I also strengthen my jaw muscles by pushing my chin left, right and back using my hands.
Here's an example of some of the more advanced neck bridges.
