Is a good weak boxer good enough to beat a good strong boxer

The mental game is vastly underrated and very important, the beauty of the sport is that in reality either can win regadless of the odds or the fight on paper, the better fighter can have an off day where they just aren't feeling it or something is wrong with them, the weaker fighter can land the right punch at the right time, anything can happen and that's part of the drama that makes the sport so intriguing. The phyisical still must be there, though. A weaker puncher has more of an uphill battle in a pro fight, but in the amateurs, points are a big deal and a smart defensive fighter can make it 3-4 rounds without getting knocked down and outpointing your opponent is rather easy imo in the amateurs, its the wars that scare me because I would hate to lose a fight because of a premature stoppage, its easy to say "he wasn't hitting back" but I know I like to go into my shell and slip shots for a bit if under a heavy assault because it both wears the other fighter down and opens the chance for counter shots.
The point of weight classes is to minimize things like size/weight disparity but there will still be some disaparity, but a mentally strong fighter can overcome his deficiencies and beat anyone in the right circumstances, just like a gifted fighter with a weak mind will only be as good as the lack of adversity before him.

To be mentally strong is to be mentally sharp and focused. The mind is connected to the body and the better fighter's body will listen to its mind. The mind is governed by something higher however... you can say it's your "presence" that rules over your mind and body if you aren't into spirituality
