In bare handed fighting hand size may make a difference. But in the ring, you and your opponent have the same size glove so arguments about force concentration in a smaller surface area are meaningless.
One advantage of naturally bigger hands is that they may be less likely to get injured, which can quickly end a fight if not a career.
Now putting plaster of paris on your handwraps... that can make a difference in punching power.
I believe it does to some extent. Obviously technique is still the main equator. But yes I somewhat believe. I mean try getting punch on the arm with a guy who has girly hands than a guy with boulders as fists.
But the main advantage of guys who have huge hands is that they are less likely to get injured.
Abit late to the party. But I have small hands but my wrists and forearms are massive... Genetically.
My punches are like pistons. Seriously my fist is barely wider than my wrist.
Alot of my peers say I punch ******ly hard. My genetics are odd though... I have huge shoulders, triceps, for arms wrists, to the point people have said I should go on steroids for bodybuilding.
One thing I notice is that it's hard to hurt my hand when I punch because of the width of my wrist making it hard for my hand to hit on dodgy angles
not really, my hands are average sized and im a pretty good puncher. When i used to not sit down on my shots, I didnt really have much power. Its all about twisting your legs, hips and shoulder into the shot and expolding thru the target
