will this guy be any good at boxing ? watch the video

so it's basicly like this this guy from my school, a friend of mine he was almost all the time watching the boxing trainings and talking about boxing all the time, and before i started training i taught he was a great boxer but i guess i was wrong...he started training with us about a month ago and he claimed he trained for 2 years in a well respected boxing gym from around here...

here's teh vid sorry about the quality and i never holded the mitts by the way ...

Your friend must have confused the sport of boxing with moving boxes for a moving company or something. I can often look at the noobiest boxing beginners and still have hope in them but not this one. That guy was horrible. It was almost painful to watch.

There's hope for anyone. It was horrible, but it's clear that he's simply never been taught to punch properly. With some proper teaching, who knows if he could have potential? Nobody is born knowing how to box correctly.

The guy in the video pretty much needs to start from square one. There's pretty much nothing that he's doing correctly. He's not even really throwing punches, he's just kind of shoving his hands forward. Late in the video, he doesn't do a terrible job of ducking, but then he starts to get crazy and looks like he's leaning and is badly off balance.

Again, he should scrap everything he's been doing and start over with the basics. Not everyone can be a champion, but I've seen some of the most unathletic kids imaginable learn to box properly.

Edit: He trained in a boxing gym for 2 years? Something's not right here. He either is lying or his gym was horrible. I looked better than that my first time in the gym, with no training other than what my dad taught me.

he's probably lying but thoose mitts are his, the glove's are his, he also has a heavybag and a speedball at his house so that's how his commited to boxing altough he has no skill , but in the gym he always listens to the coaches critics but when we go outside he SAYS THAT HE KNOWSMORE THEN OUR COACH....we all laugh off course...it's been a month since he's getting whooped in sparring in all trainings but he always comes back...

I've trained with headstrong guys who think they know more than the trainers, too. Usually, when they start getting beaten up in sparring (which they always do), they either start listening (rarely) or they quit (often the case).

My wife would beat him ! I taught her how to boxe and she's 10 times better than this guy, she can hit hard cause she learned the good technics, she hit harder than some guys ! He simply doesn't do ONE thing correctly, he should listen to his trainer...
