Tore both your ACL's? ****.
I'd imagine it would be pretty difficult to really do much intense exercise with an injury like that. Just do what you can dude, consult your doctor, and limit your food intake to avoid excessive fat gains. Yeah, limiting your calories is the best advice I can offer. Seeing as I'd guess you'd be relatively sedentary whilst recovering, you won't need as many calories. Unless you are a teen who is growing.

I am 18 years old so I have a bit of growing left I think. I will be living across from a farmers market in 3 weeks so I think that will help a bit. I have stopped eating any junk food or drinking any pop already. I am pretty antsy that I can not train for a year so I have been lifting weights (just upper body) and doing whatever ab excercises that I can. I even found a small leg excercise to help strengthen the Muscle around my knee so that it stops hurting as bad and so I can move around a bit more.
Anyway anymore advice would be really helpful dude. How should I keep track of my Calories and how do I know how much I am supposed to have?

Keeping your calories under control is not as hard as you think, reading the labels and counting is useful, and if the food you are eating doesn't have a nutritional label (as in fruit, meats) there are sites to help with that (). Also just make good overall sensible choices.
Knowing how much you are able to have, is where your BMR comes in. Go to this site to calculate it, and from there theres a link where you can use your BMR and factor in your activity levels etc to find out exactly how many cals you can have per day to maintain weight, and then from there you can take off/add some cals to help you lose/gain weight. (harris benedict equation)
hope that helps manLast edited by Suckmedry; 08-14-2010, 07:01 AM.

I actually tore them awhile back while wrestling but I tried to continue training and Now the doctor said that if I try to train I can tear my cartilage. I am a mixed martial artist and I was a really good wrestler, and I went for a double against a bigger guy during an exibition match and tore my right ACL. My left tore while I was trying to run, I slipped because my right gave out and then it blew my left. Just bad decisions I guess.
