    eyes

where do you keep your eyes focused on when sparring? i hear some people say look at them in the eyes and use your peripheral for the punches, then i hear others say look at their chin, then i hear others say look where you want to land i.e. chin or body or chest etc. all the above perhaps?

Different boxers do different things. Most stare them in the eyes but "intellect" boxers usually observe the opponents footwork among other things.

It's really whatever works for you. Literally every trainer will tell you one or the other, usually followed by some pretty good reason. Just do what works for you. I watch the eyes and use the peripheral to see the punches. It sounds dumb, but in a lot of cases often times when watching their eyes, you can actually see what punch your opponent is thinking of throwing before they throw it. A lot of people (including my friend) will look where they're going to punch before they punch there. Go figure.

Chest and Shoulders, looking them in the eyes seems like a bad habit.

before the match/sparring look them in the eyes but if they also do it don't get intimidated.. then in the match look at their chest to see where his punches will come from and also take a look at his footwork

When Im out of range I usually look into their eyes, not for any mindgame or intimidation purposes though, just because I find its easier to anticipate when they are about to get into range.

When im at fighting distance with them I look at the chest and their hands

I usually look at the ground, keep their left hand right at the edge of the top of my peripheral while im staring at it having the chest and shoulders in that peripheral so like the only thing is see is from the feet to the shoulders and the only thing cleary is the left left hand. some times when theres distance but thats mainly to look around see where i have room and plan my next move.
