    First fight this Sunday.

    Can't wait.

    Any tips?

I've finished two weeks of solid training, seen my fighter, only has a strong right hand/uppercut.

Any fights i can watch to see how to move to the right? Polish my fundamentals.

Also, what's the best thing to do if someone tries to swarm you early? I'm a slow starter.

    Peace.

Make sure you warm up properly beforehand. If he tries to swarm you, cover up and take it on the gloves, and fire back with straight punches. Then move to the sides and repeat.

Don't get freaked out if he comes running at you throwing leather like crazy, he won't be able to sustain it because he will be just as nervous and inexperienced as you. If he does that, like I said take it on your guard, fire back with short straight punches, then move off to the sides and keep it up.

If he has a big right hand, circle mostly away from it. You can circle towards it too, but drop back further away from a little so he can't reach you with it.

If he looks for the big right uppercut in close, counter it with a left hook.

And just relax a bit. You will get nervous, it can be scary in front of everyone, but if you just stick to straight, clean punches and keep your hands up, chances are you will do well.

Brilliant advice mate, will refer to this again when the time comes for my first bout.

To OP, I've not had a fight yet but I think if you can keep your nerve, relax, and do what you know you can do instead of getting caught up in the moment you'll be fine.

for your first fight just stay calm and stick with the basics. use your jab, keep your hands up and throw straight fast punches. if hes got a big right hand there are several ways to take it away.

          circle to your right
double up on the jab to avoid counter rights.
slip outside, counter to the liver.
if hes wide with the right just keep your left up and nail him with a straighter right of your own.

dont focus too much on what his strenghts are though, not when you are first starting out. just stay relaxed and fight your fight. stay disciplined, hands up, straight punches, speed>power.

Its all in the mind my man. Like you said you already done the preperation and as long as you know your in the best shape you can possibly be in, just go in there and do the business.

I think the main message is clear, just keep your composure, if he comes wailing use your jab and widen that range so he cant get in on you, use your footwork and your head movement. Good advice above about keeping your guard up letting him tire out however dont just stand there and do that, you dont want him sneaking in points anywhere.

Good luck and post your results dude
