    Need a Good Diet/Exercise Routine

I'm overweight (6'4" about 255 lbs) and trying to solve that. I have a heavy bag as well as a double end bag. If anyone could give me a diet/exercise routine that would help me shed maybe 30 lbs (I have a very big frame, 225 would is about the perfect weight for me), I'd be very grateful. Roadwork is a little iffy because I have bad knees.

Also, I do a little bit of boxing on my own (bad knees stop me from joining an actual boxing gym) and I keep hyperextending my right elbow when I throw hard. What can I correct to stop doing that?

Also, I can swim in place of roadwork. I have a river in my backyard with a pretty strong current and access to a couple different pools.

      Honest,

Beacuse you have bad knees and all, you should go to a gym. Explain it to the trainer, maybe he can give you a training schedule. You could do it under supervision for a month or 2 and go do your thing alone after you got all the basics right.

I think it's actually more dangerous for you to do it alone. Trainers, good ones, make a living out of the sport, they know how to adapt to your specifics way better tyhan you do, I'd bet.

      Good luck man.

Thanks, but the boxing thing is just hobby, I'm not trying to actually fight competitively. That was just an addendum to my original question. All I really want is a diet and a bit of an exercise routine. I was part of a gym for a while and I kept hurting my legs. I just can't get them in good enough shape to actually fight and I feel like I'm wasting the trainer's time if I can just go home, eat right, hit a heavy bag and get the same results.

For breakfast start eating Oakmeal. But not that instant bull**** (most of the nutritional value is destroyed by the process of making it instant), go to a good grocery store and buy Steel Cut Oakmeal.

Eat that for breakfast everyday with some fruit. That should hold you over for a long time and will stack you with nutriets unlike instant oatmeal which just fills you up and gives you a little fuel.

Cut out the bread all together and go to the frozen section and buy Sprouted Bread. It's the only bread any boxer should be eating. Any other kind of bread is completely useless. Even the whole grain bread. The process of making bread kills all the enzymes and everything that is good in bread. Sprouted bread is cooked slow and packed with nutrients and kept in the freezer to keep the enzymes alive.

Most people dont realize that the way most "healthy foods" are cooked basically destroys everything that is good in them. Any food that is "instant" or cooked in a microwave, or bought at any fast food place, is pretty much death.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind.
