    How to Shadowbox like a pro

    Hello everybody I would just like to ask you what to do in order to shadow box like a pro?

    What unnecessary movements and bad habits should I remove and what necessary movements and good habits should I add whenever im shadowboxing?

    One of the things most people don't seem to do is actually visualize an opponent in front of them throwing punches. People just tend to go through the motions, move around a bit and throw all kinds of combinations.

    So you should picture an opponent throwing punches at you and work in slips, rolls, footwork and counters etc as if it were an actual fight or sparring session.

          i dunno about u but it depends on your taste, it does not really matter how good it looks just focus on the essential of your game.
          Well im just into basics i like emphasize footwork in 1st then come forward, blocking and bob and weaving on the 2nd then on 3rd i do combinations and increase the pace.

            Oh just to clear things up Im not asking how to shadowbox like a pro because I want to show off or something. I just want to make sure that I dont pick up bad habits whenever I do shadowboxing

                Thats bull****. There is a mirror in the gym for a reason, and its not so you can visualize an opponent.

                Shadowboxing is about working on your technique, so you need to watch yourself, and go slow.

                  No, it's not bull****. For people who fight and especially when they have upcoming fights and opponents and game plans they are working out, it is an essential step. It is an essential step for many things, in putting together combinations, those slips, those things with those strategies, and getting it into your muscle memory, your tendons and further more your neuro-transmitters, as part of the progression of familiarity.

                  You don't just step in there and have a winning formula. You introduce it in stages, with practice. Say, the mitts, then shadowboxing, then to sparring...and by then, you have created that familiarity, to find yourself in the ring come fight time and not having to be thinking about what to do, but moreso, automatically reacting to what you and your muscles already know.

                    i disagree. i think shadowboxing is working your mind and visualizing your opponent like last dude said. when you work on the bag and maybe mitts you focus on technique..well really, you should always focus on technique. but the main thing to me is working the mind and defense
