It's worth it when you have time.

With no afternoon boxing, I have my reading time set!

            • Day one - So that's where Steward got it from. Watch all of the Kronk fighters, they take their heads out of center while throwing their right hands. That had never ocurred to me while I was boxing, probably could have saved myself from eating as many right hands as I did.

Hearns, McClellan, Mcrory threw this way. They all did! I don't know if Kenty threw his right hands this way though.

I do remember in my first tournament, first bout ever, actually, I had to fight twice in the same day, I had stopped this other kid quick in the first bout and was lined to face this kid from Kronk late in the tourny.

We were boxing out of the novice class. This kid could box doe. They tend to hold them back and then let them box in sanctioned bouts when they believe that they have become skilled (to a high level, these were not novice boxers. They prepared them right.) The only picture that my mom snapped was one of him dropping an over hand right to my skull, over my jab, his elbow perfectly pointing up at 90' and his head neatly placed outside of the line of fire. You couldn't have painted a more technically perfect picture of throwing the shot.. ............Rockin'

Was there a rivalry between Kronk and Galaxy and the other Detroit-area gyms? Or was Kronk just always seen as the top dog?

I never went down there when I was fighting. I was taken to Myrtle Beach by their PR man. I was to be a sparring partner for his son. He asked me to join them in the boxing on the trip home.

I didn't go down there until after I quit fighting.

They were top dawg though, always had been.

No rivalries though between gyms, off of the top of my mind.

Detroit was loaded with talent at the time...................Rockin'
