Was wondering how wide a stance everyone boxes from, feet shoulder width apart? And do you get wider on the inside and narrower when backing up? I usually start about shoulder width apart on the outside and try to get a little wider on the inside to get leverage on my hooks and uppercuts but sometimes if im backing up with the jab i get a bit narrower.

I had a very wide stance, i've shortened it a bit now but it's still wide-ish. There positives and negatives to them all.
Very Wide
+ Increases standard punching range. Gives you a long range without stepping in.
+ Enables an easy lean back.
+ Studier base
- Aches your legs
- You do have an increased range but if they double or triple jab, you can't step back and lay back easily.
- Makes it more difficult to step in
- Makes it more difficult to move
Was going to do them all, can't be assed. If you prefer a wide stance make sure its only just wider than shoulder width, the normal stance is shoulder width, it's quite ****** to bring your legs in less than shoulder width. However wide your stance gets, it should NEVER decrease more than shoulder width. Find what's comfortable and what works for your style and from there it should roughly always stay the same, any step is followed by the other foot doing the same.

Shoulder width apart, but sometimes I feel a bit more comfortable when putting my feet a LITTLE bit wider, back heel up on the back foot... and also 70% of the weight on the back foot, back leg slightly more bent then the front. That's roughly how I do it... but sometimes forget the weight on the back leg.
