    Power Jab..?

I have only been boxing for about 7 months - 3 times a week.
My jab has improved in that time, but i wouldnt say a real impressive amount.

What can people suggest to improve the power/stiffness and speed of a jab ?
    All suggestions welcome

I do this the majority of the time, but this wont actually improve the power of the punch over time will it ?
Its just improving the power there and then because my weight is behind it ...

practice, it'll come naturally, as does everything through practice

look at your stance and make sure that it not only is comfortable, but allows you to easily transfer your weight from your back leg to your front with a slight tilt from back to front. Turn your hips a little and push through the jab as you turn your shoulder into it. So, kinda pivot forward while turning your shoulders and hips in the direction of the jab- imagine your punch being sharp and crisp too while practicing, eventually the mind will make the muscles respond the way you want them to.

now combine that with a good footwork and you'll sting like a bee.

                Yo!

I just made some boxing training videos with the 3 time British Welterweight Champion; Derek Roche. In one of them he is showing a really cool alternative way of jabbing which worked really well for him in his career.

Hope it helps, let me know if you have any questions about other aspects of your game.
