Do you tend to switch styles during Sparring against different sizes?

When i spar someone bigger then me i tend to get hit a lot more, and i completely switch my style, like i would crunch into a turtle shell defence and throw looping shots (kinda like peek-a-boo but my arms extend off more)

yet when i fight guys shorter then me I hop on my toes, and throw fluries whenever i get the chance.

I feel much more comfortable weaving, throwing flurries and jabbing, but it defeats the whole purpose of doing it when i fight ppl bigger then me, i guess you can say i'm more afraid of bigger people, and it is harder to land good shots.

Is there a way were i can keep using my style against bigger people cuz i have hard time with it. thanks in advance

It really does depend on who you spar. I've sparred most of the kids my size at the club at my school, so I know how they fght, there's one kid who throws kinda wild, but he hits hard, so I'm much more defensive fighting against him. There's another kid who doesn't move his head, so I pick him off with combos a lot of the time, and there's a kid who loves trying to go to my body, and I use the PBF shoulder roll, and it works wicked good against him.

I tend to get hit with the jab a lot more against bigger guys. There's a kid who I do a lot of sparring with who I have about 12 pounds on, but he is a lot more naturally skilled then me. He tends to use his speed and upper body movement to make me miss, but I just stick to a hard jab and straight punches, and it does work.

Against the taller and stronger guys, I tend to lunge to get in on them and throw predominantly to the body. The main thing smaller guys need to do is find their distance against a taller guy and throw straight shots from there.

Ya i'm i try to keep my distance but i'm still learning. The hard part is the timing or "what should i do nexT" becuz i dont like throwing random punches i like to plan what i do next.

I know what ya mean bro. Against taller people I use the Winky defence and march forward throwing only straight shots. But, with people worse than me I would bounce around and use a floyd style type defence and dance around and pick my shots. Being able to use different styles can win fights and being able to change quickly makes you a devastating opponent.

i go roy jones on the big guys, jump to the left(while moving slightly foward) and throwing a long left hook around his defence followed by a straight right through his arms, works like a charm
for the shorter guys, i tend to switch to southpaw, cuz most peeps in my gym are older their stronger and there's this one short guy that has the strenght of a bull, so i switch to southpaw for balance with my stronger arm infront

it's good man, you should fight differrent peeps with differrent styles, cuz you might get ****ed in the future if you dont know how to adapt
