What do you think of this boxing camp?

.. They have something called circuit classes...3x a week..and its quite pricey.

    Fees:

    Schedule:

This is a man who fought PBF before and went the distance with him. He also fought Hatton.

I currently train for MMA but...Im sorta finding myself more interested in boxing for some odd reason (I started off as a boxer/american kickboxer when I was 14).. stopped for a year and decided to venture of into MMA (Spent 2.5 years doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA, Kickboxing etc)

Im 17 and looks like I will be giving up on MMA..but I just want to try something new for once.

So my question is, should I just pay for the Open gym Membership which is $75 per month, or should I pay for 1-2 circuit classes. If I just pay for the open gym, do you think he'll be teaching me or will I have to learn on my own?

I emailed him and I will call him tmrrw..but I just want to discuss it now..

Yeah Ive decided to end my contract with my MMA gym and join this ....I just want to dedicate myself to boxing....

So can you guys help answer my question? Should I just go there and pay the Open gym $75 or should I pay for the circuit classes? I hope he can teach me techniques if I just get the open gym membership....... it'd suck to pay $161 a month...for 3 circuit classes.

Save your money and do your thing in open session. I'm guessing he's doing them circuit classes to exploit white collar bums. I pay the equivalent of $8 a week where I train. After my pro medical on Dec 10, it will be free but my trainer/manager will take 15% of all purses. It is a fully equipped gym too, and one of best in country. Be aware of people who take alot of money. Quite often they are frauds looking to make a quick raise rather than develop quality fighters. Proof is always in the pudding so see how good his fighters are, not how good the fighters he fought were!!!

Thank you for your suggestion. My only worry now is that I will go in there, do the member orientation...then do my "own" thing. I worry that without paying for the "circuit" classes...I will be left with no proper instruction.

I just hope he teaches me proper technique and form during the open gym sessions.... (Im sure he has assistant boxing instructors at his gym judging from this video)

edit: Im pissed off that there aren't any GREAT boxing gyms here in Vancouver that run 6 classes a week (Most boxing gyms only run 3 classes a week) and charge a shi*load... For $75 a month I better get some proper instruction. (keep in mind i'm a beginner)

As long as they do padwork and supervised sparring in the o[pen sessions, then they are what you want. Most good gyms have an open session. We do circuits in groups at my gym, but people are free to do other things while we do! It helps people tailor their routine to their individual needs, as you should be doing the thing sthat you find hardest towards the end.

Thanks bro.. I'll just check the gym out maybe next week and see how they run things...

Just realized...On Monday, Wednesday, & Friday....the open sessions run from 5:30pm-9pm...... Surely, Tony or whoever will be helping beginners with their form and technique.... haha..
