I sparred with my brother in law yesterday, i tried the philly shell and it's pretty damn hard. Anyone got tips for how to fight in the philly shell stance?

Yah, don't use it. You shouldn't adopt anyone else's style when you start boxing. You have to learn the basic and fudamentals. After you get comfortable with that, you will be able to mix things up a little. But for now you need to just learn the basics, forget all this "philly shell" stuff. I wish people would give you more serious answers...this just isn't the forum for that. Half the guys here are just trolls.

I tried it yesterday on a bouncer when he wouldn't yet my 12 year old bro into the club..... knocked him the **** out and the other bouncers were scared to come near us..... got free VIP and all.... Thanks Fisherman Henk!!!!!
And yeh its best to just stand still with your hands somewhere around your balls so its easier to breathe when your not throwin punches
