Three times, Treating it like a boxing match maybe even 5 times .. With one minute rests ... I haven't tried it and to be honest i would probably spend my minutes rest being sick ... Anybody tried it and how hard is it?

Honestly you are not going to be able to sprint all out for 2 minutes. You should start with 30second all out sprints and walk 1 minute off then sprint 30 seconds all out again. Doing this for a while will build you up to 1 min on 1 min off eventually. And that is all you will need if you are going all out balls to the wall. This is great for amatuer boxing due to explosive bursts you need for throwing combos.

yep ive done it but you dont sprint, you just run as fast as you can keep up for 2 mins rest 1 min then repeat 2 or 3 times. it sharpens you up and conditions you well

Thats a pretty good idea mate. I do 400m intervals, you run 400m in 1min30, 10-20 seconds rest repeat that about 5-10 times, also great for conditioning.

yeah 8x 20 seconds sprints 10 sec rest, after a while I increased it to two sets of tabatas in the night, one at the start and one at the end. Then alternate the days with burpees (4x 2 mins rounds), sometimes do bulk amounts of squats. Just make sure I do legs every day.

I used to do this daily as I thought interval training was the ideal form of training for me but I have recently realized this is not the best type of running for speed and stamina. It is very tedious first of all to keep changing the speed of the running machine every two minutes, and I found it harder to regulate my usual distance and speed ran per session. I find it alot better to do half an hour run at 12 kmph with and if I do interval training I add 3 X two minute sprints at the end (at 14.6 kmph).

umm i don't think you're supposed to be doing intervals on a treadmill manually. if there's a sprinting prgram already in the treadmill computer, fine, but sprints should be real distance - coz like you said, changing the speed is a hassle and not instantaneous.
