I have been boxing for only one year and i am 20. i am just about to go into my first amateur fight. my trainers say i have incredible skill, fitness, speed blah blah blah to make it but im just worried that i started all this too late. i mean realistically a boxing carrer will fade by the tie you get to 33 onwards. you may still be good but never the same. so im just thinking to myself i have 13 years to become a champion. considering how long i will have to stay in amateur boxing for and tournaments etc etc, by the time i turn pro i may only have a few years left in me.
What is your guys opinions on whether it is to late for me to make it pro. i dont want cheer me ups or false motivation i just want good advice and realistic views as what you guys tell me i will listen to and decide from there.
i dont want boxing to be a hobby, i want it to be my carreer, but i want a decent carreer out of it, not just a couple of years.
Also does anyone know any boxers who came into the game late and how to go about making it to the top when time is running out.
i never thought i'd have to say "when time is running out" at 20 lol.
Thanks guys
