Atkins or any no carb diets are not good in the long run.
You don't need to go on Atkins to loose weight, limit your carbo intake but do not completely avoid them, carbs are good they give you the energy needed to exercise. Use slow burning carbs like wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal before workout, use fast burning carbs like white bread, white rice right after work out . Eat fibrous carbs like green beans, broccoli, lettuce *yes they are indeed considered carbs because they fill you up like regular carbs) Avoid most fats but fat IS needed by the body but not mayonnaise, baby back ribs and french fries. Natural fats from fish, grilled that is not fried. Research the net to come up with an action plan, not an Atkins plan -- because did you know mr atkins diet of his own diet? yes its true. Get a good balanced diet from calorieking.com, exercises and you'll be ok.
As said by others, make it a lifestyle NOT a diet and Atkins IS a diet, You will never be able to stay on it for life so do your body a favor and eat a little carbs no and then.....
but if you still want a atkins diet plan:
eat everything from fatty burgers, fried chicken (without flour, breadcrumbs or cornmeal coating because those are carbs too) to giant porterhouse steaks with BBQ sauce and a slab of mayo on top...but i hope you got my point.
peace

Of course it will not be said that he died of his own diet because there are people who are still receiving lots of money from his book sales.
