    Question about running

I run everynight for 30 minutes... is that good enough for a beginner? Or should I increase the time.

This gets to me too, I can workout, hit the bag, etc without getting dead tired. Im close but it's nothing compared to after I get done with a 30 minute run, which I can barely get through as of right now. Although, Iam seeing improvements.

I find its better to set a distance not a time that way no matter what you the same amount of work,if your feeling lazy you still have to the distance and if your feeling energetic its like a prize when you finish early.Ive been training for 3 months and ive worked up to 6 kilometeres 3 times a week.

I wouldn't worry too much about the total time. There's a difference between running and jogging and it's probably better to run at a quick pace for 15 minutes than a slow pace for 30 since boxing relies more on explosiveness.

How fast are you running for 30 minutes? Don't worry about how much you can do if you're only just starting running.

This time last year I struggled to run half a mile. Yesterday morning I ran 6 mile quite comfortably.

Keep running and you'll keep improving. Don't worry about it for now. Just keep it up.

Does it matter if you run outside or on a treadmill?

I prefer running outside. On a treadmill the belt is moving beneath you so all you do is move your legs where as outside you have to push yourself forward.

Go hill running if you want good results. It hurts like hell but is VERY effective.

Olympic athletes proved long ago that intervals are a better way of improving fitness. However, if you don't have access to a track or for some other reason intervals are not an option for you, then it is better you set yourself a fixed distance, perhaps two miles, and try to improve your elapsed time by a few seconds every week. Remember, running is a high impact form of training and you can give yourself an injury if you aren't careful. Be sure you have proper footwear and that you are running on a flat surface. The camber of the road can give you a knee injury.

Probably won't take more than a few more months and you will be able to pop-off 2 miles in under 12 minutes.
