i'm trying to bulk up and got some Cytogainer weight gainer. it's like 800 cals a serving loaded with all the macros + creatine, etc. I figure with all the cardio i get from boxing it cant hurt in adding muscle and therefore more power, no?

Unless you wanna get fat, like, as fat as dogs ***** Beth, and get boobs like hers aswell, I recommend not consuming a weight gainer. If you have a look on the label and compare it to...a whey protein isolate for instance, then it you should see that it has a lot more carbs. Weight gainers are merely really fatty protein powders. My suggestion if you wanna gain lean weight:
-Gym with sets of 4 and reps between 8-12 on each excercise.
-Creatine
-Protein powder (pref a whey protein isolate or concentrate)
-Nitric oxide
-amino acids
But you can do with the first 3. However as queensdawg said earlier "bodybuilding and boxing are opposite"- IMO I don't think is completely true, but it's a very good rule of thumb.
But why do you want to gain weight?
Power?
You should be weightlifting, and/or gym with reps of 1-5, contrary to what I said earlier. This way will increase power not muscle.

The other posters are correct.
If you really want to bulk though, (keep in mind it will make getting down in weight much much harder in the future), weight gainers willhelpyou bulk and get jacked.
BE AWARE of how much cholesteroland saturated fats you are ingesting! make sue your diet is dead on for a week or so before bulking, and be eatinglots and lots of veggies....
best weight gainer that worked for me, and what i use as my protein shake now, just less eggs and og mixed in a blender. i used to mix 12 eggs and og in the blender than gulp gulp gulp, twice a day....
As for over the counter shakes, "True-Mass" works best. I have bulked to 180lbs. It works very well and very fast.
Keep some things in mind though......
#1. Your cardio will suffer. From being just bigger because all of that extra muscle on your frame will need more oxygen, and your heart will have to pump harder to move that volume of blood. Your cardio will also suffer from the poor diet.
#2. You will change your metabolism. It will be harder to lose weight in the future.
#3. If you arent lifting a lot and have a solid routine you do risk getting a spare tire that will be a lot harder to lose....Last edited by nedcmk1; 11-05-2007, 07:57 AM.
