you'll get used to it,when you train hard it will build your confidence,, spar with someone who is greatly above your level then that will boost your skills ,that's what i did,im an amateur here in phils but i spar with pro's ,, so everytime im gonna spar with amateurs i can easily predict and see their punches! training is the real pain in boxing it just hurts me more than fighting inside the ring ...! TIP :KEEP YOUR GUARD HIGH EVERYTIME ,ITS VERY ANNOYING TO YOUR OPPONENT .. TIP #2 : DONT CLOSE YOUR EYES WHEN YOU SEE A PUNCH COMING ,, JUST DODGE IT INSTEAD U CANT HIT BACK WITH CLOSED EYES !!

It's just about whether you want to get used to it or not. Some guys don't like physical contact, they don't want to get used to it. They'll not make it in this sport or any other physical sport (football etc.).
If you want to get used to it you will. You spar people, you get punched in the face, in the body, you do that a few months and then you'll get used to it somewhat. That doesn't mean getting punched in the face/body won't hurt anymore, it's just that you get used to it somewhat, you expect it to hurt a certain way. Hard to explain but just hang in there and you will get used to it and fall in love with this sport.

If you don't want to deal with the pain but like the feeling that the sport gives you, just go in to the gym to exercise and don't spar.
Otherwise, my thinking is that if you want to box, you have to accept pain as being a part of the sport.
