    Motivation Gone..

When I started boxing I loved it. I came everyday, never missed a day, and always wanted to train more. I used to run every weekend, 4 miles. Cold and snow. Now I'm like not motivated anymore. Before i would love to have more days of training, now I don't care for them.

I am doing good in boxing, the last time I sparred I did real well and impressed my coach. I am in good shape, and I really want to become a boxer. When it comes to a day of practice, I just do not feel like going.

Its weird, and i want to go back to the way I was when I started boxing.

u need 2 spar someone thats better then u whether its an experienced am or a pro and get ur ass kicked tht will usually motovate anyone to work harder, and everytime u do something well congradulate utrself by screwin of ur diet for a meal then look at what u could of done better it sounds to me as if u get 2 happy wit ur self. Good luck

I actually did take like two weeks off. Than I started up last week, and I missed the second practice. Two practices in a week.

Get yourself back in the gym now!!

The novelty may have worn off, but you know you will still love it, and you know you must be good at it. I think you need a goal... set a date for when you need to be ready to compete... or maybe (if your not wishin to compete) set yourself fitness goals. Get yourself on a track, on a course.

Also, like the other posters said, get yourself beaten up by a better sparring partner - sometimes my short - term goal is getting better than the last guy who handed my arse to me.

Don't give up, you'll regret it. As for missing days, i always think, if you miss one... then you find it really difficult to not miss the next one. Get yourself in order!

Maybe you need someone (like your coach) to be shouting at you, to get you motivated. I wouldn't want to let my coach down after the effort he's put into me, so that would spur me on.

            Keep goin

thats terrible advice to tell someone not motivated. ur basically sayin go get ur ass kicked in sparring when ur not even motivated to do it, and then cheat on ur diet as long as ur workin out good. come on man...

Well, some people actually get motivated by that. I know I do. It makes me want to be better then the other guy, and therefor I focus more of what I actually GAIN by training, then... well, then actually just thinking about "another day of training".

Oh well, hope you get your motivation back m8. I've kind of lost mine too, but I basically just force myself to the gym. Hope you find your cure!

Ask your coaches to put you in a fight.
