Warrington ducked Gary Russell, only to get sparked by an Unknown Mexican! Great job by Lara...

Why would i be heartbroken? Have i had this much of an impression on you?

I've just won £400 on a £40 bet at 10/1 on Lara. All the ingredients where there. Warrington has been out for 16 months while Lara has been active. No one knows how bad Josh could look after being out that long. That's why in situations like this you just get fighters an easy fight just to have a camp and get out there. If they look bad, then the chances are still slim with them losing. But put resistance in there with no upside with the favourite and the guy can punch, then it's actually criminal match making at play. Nothing to gain and in a weakened position against an active fighter who's tough and can punch. Then you add their styles into it.

Warrington looked like shlt right from the get go. That 16 months killed him. Everything looked bad in every area with Josh. But Lara was the one who benefitted. He shouldn't have, as Eddie should have done his job properly. But i think he was looking at DAZN viewers in the US and Mexico with a Mexican opponent. I benefitted too with £400. But if you create that situation with many top fighters, they lose. Especially if you look as rusty as Josh did.
Yep, correct. He’s right here gentlemen. I also think Hearn chose this opponent to appeal to Mexican American boxing fans who Edward desperately needs to keep buying into dayzin

Tbf Gallagher probably raises an interesting point regarding British fighters.

As an island in lockdown you doubt Brits can get quality sparring in a lockdown situation.

There is no question they arent doing particularly well. Even someone like Ryder was pretty poor on the Canelo undercard.

Not that they're the only ones suffering but you'd imagine the Americans and Mexicans will have far superior access to good sparring at the moment

Read between the lines, Gallagher's making excuses and trying to keep his job and some credibility after Smith got comprehensively beaten by Canelo without a Plan A, never mind a B or C!

Smith couldn't beat Canelo with a baseball bat.

So I dont doubt he is trying to distance himself from blame but I think you've gotta look at the performances of some others who are competing far beneath that Canelo level but not doing very well. Must be difficult to hold a decent shot if you've had fairly sporadic sparring and spent all that time out of the ring and then had to put your body through the stress of making weight.

Depending on what faculties are available "in the bubble", making weight might be more stressful. I don't think that UK fighters are any worse off than most other places as regards what they're able to do for training and sparring though.

However, I think the lack of a lot be crowd is a massive factor for some fighters.

                Thanks.
