Comments Thread For: NSAC Head: Upon Further Review, Referee Russell Mora Was Unequivocally Correct

The Nevada State Athletic Commission is not only content with the decision made in the junior bantamweight rematch between Joshua Franco and Andrew Moloney but has doubled down on the ruling made in the ring.

Immediate rematch man. Maloney was putting it on franco before the stoppage and it didnt look like franco was gonna make him fade with that eye looking like it did

wow, that's all they could find? aren't there multiple camera angles?

it looks like a butt just in those screen caps..... damn! i was thinking it was a bad call like many, i'm sure.

maloney definitely looked the better, but who's the say franco wouldn't have come on later were it not for the butt

One of the clips I watched showed Franco's head close up with his eye undamaged, then there was the punch by Moloney and immediately the eye started to swell. Head clashes happen all the time, if one was the cause then the damage should show up then.

That moment had no forward momentum. Just phonebooth head touching.

Them going off of screenshot only proves they don't want to accept guilt.

if it wasn't a headbutt that caused it, it was a thumb in the eye from a landed jab. Just do a rematch, because it's a cheap way to win a title fight.

I saw their heads come together several times early. In some of them, maloney's back was to the camera but i could still tell there was contact. I noticed this live during the fight in real time. I dont really know what caused the swelling. I was more annoyed that the fight was stopped. Franco still had one eye and I've seen ppl with one eye come back to win fights. But maloney looked very fresh, sharp and busy, while franco looked flat. So if the fight continued, it wasn't looking good for franco. But u never know

Its extremely rare to have head butts and no nicks or cuts, how does his head get inside the eye socket, it was his upper and lower lid that closed not the brow or cheek , you must be inside the eye socket to do that damage, it was the thumb as Bradley pointed out it shows as plain as day it wasnt there and then it was, no headbutt a jab right on that eye.
