This fight depends on how motivated Fury would be, if he still has his hunger then nothing Wilder brings touches him, Fury would just outbox him from the outside and hold/maul him on the inside, for all boxing gods we all hope Wilder doesn’t win, that’s the only way we would see the undisputed fight.
Deontay has several hurdles to overcome. Number one- he has to overcome the asswhipping he took, physically and mentally. He has to fully physically heal, including that damned dent in his skull. He needs acceptance that this beating did happen, and he needs to understand why it happened, which leads me to number two- his skills need a lot of work. he does plenty of things wrong. He has to acknowledge that much of what got him by in all his previous fights, won't work with tyson fury. He needs to fire the **** out of jay deas, and lock himself in a gym somewhere with someone who can impart the skills he needs. Number three- he needs humility or he will fall back in love with his power over and over again, and never be able to implement any skills. He needs to take his brain out of his right hand and put it in his left hand. Man he needs a lot goddamit
Good assessment! Fury is obviously the better fighter and a heavy favourite. That said, if Wilder has got his head down you never know, one shot can change everything with the heavyweights!
Yeah, folk are rubbishing the rematch, but if Fury and Wilder are going to engage with gloves on, I'll watch it again no problem!
People said the same when Aj took the Ruiz rematch straight away....
It's happening because Wilder didn't show up the last fight. Even Fury said "That wasn't Deontay Wilder in there". Wilder can win with one punch. And if he does - no one will be questioning why it happened
This is the 3rd fight - not a rematch! Fury has won literally all the rds with the exception of the 2 rds he got knocked down - and even at the end of those 2 rds he was coming forward and backing Wlilder up. And Fury has proven its going to take more than ONE punch from Wilder to knock him out!! Wilders power is legit but overrated and his Ko record padded with tomato cans!
Given that currently he is one of, if not the most, prominent and influential boxing promoter around, you should give a flying **** what Eddie thinks. Thought lead to actions, actions lead to fans' satisfaction or dissatisfaction. So yeah...what Eddie thinks matters in the boxing world. What you think, on the other hand, is utterly irrelevant.
When all else fails, when the “American takeover” is revealed as a total failure, when you no longer have the “billion dollar budget”, when your app falls apart, when you are relegated to fights in someone’s backyard/garden, when your leading contender gets bingo’d, when you’re begging for fights other the likes of Top Rank and Golden Boy, I guess the only thing left to energise the EDL/BF incels is good old fashioned bashing of the American former champion who you created a multi-year long campaign to soil and discredit
just like the pbc takeover failed brutally. you mad? when are we going to get those pbc titles? LOL
It's hard to say what will happen in the third fight. The consensus is that Fury will win which I believe. From what I know Wilder has Foreman and Mayweather working with him so that may help him. They can help him work on his defense and combination punching. Wilder's best chance to win is to get back to the simple jab, right hand combination and when Fury tries to back him up using his size to pound him to the body. Otherwise if Wilder relies on his right hand this will be a short night for him. He cannot outbox Fury. Someone said earlier, Wilder has psychological and mental challenges to overcome from his last fight with Fury. All of Wilder's rhetoric has to stop and he has to take this fight very seriously. No ****** costumes, no "Bomb Squad", no foolishness, etc. At this point his credibility is shot so he needs to rebuild it. I feel that Wilder is a humble, down to earth person but very very arrogant as a fighter. Arrogant because his career is grounded on fighting tomato cans and knocking them out easy. So now he has to prove himself. Can he do it, we will find out in a few months.
