Greater fighter: Fury or Andre Ward?

Who accomplished more between Fury and Ward?

    #2
right now it's definitely andre ward. better fighter on the eye test and in accomplishments. fury's best win is still an ancient wladimir klitschko.

you all called deontay wilder a bum, for the record. you can't call the guy who beat him great off of that. not how it works if you want to stay an honest man.

I don’t think ward achieved this level of recognition though. Nor he ever had a sensational win like fury over wilder where everyone was just amazed with how he did it.

I gotta give it to ward at this point though. He has the better body of work, longer and more consistent reign. Too bad he also got that long layoff. What a waste of prime.
Pound for pound they’re both smart dudes so it’s a toss who will win it in fantasy. Fury’s speed, reflexes and movements is really something for his size.

And yup ward mauls wilder pound for pound.

ward has thus far shown to be a completely different class of fighter. he had once close fight in his career, against a LHW who was on the pound for pound list and close to his prime. prior to that he hadn't lost since he was a 12 year old boy. for some perspective, tyson fury was on the deck twice against deontay wilder, who boxes like a total amateur and who most fury fans call a bum. a lesser ref than jack reiss would have stopped that fight and we all know it. 10 out of 10 british refs stop that fight if the roles are reversed and theyt're in england.

along the eway ward cemented one of the best resumes at 168 lbs of all time, and dominated carl froch, mikkel kessler, and basically everybody else. it all started with a gold medal at LHW of all places, 178 lbs when he was 19-20 years old. that's impressive! tyson fury lost in the amateurs to david price and didn't even qualify for the british olympic team at all. so immediately you see the lack in boxing abilities from a young age.

ward didn't fight bute, but totally dominated the guy who beat his ass with zero fuss, and it's obvious that bute was overrated and why ;because he wasn't andre ward and europeans resented ward for the beating he put on kessler and froch.

Was man enough to take that challenge as well.

Ward benefited from dubious decisions while Fury suffered because them too.

Fury has boxing skills, Ward is a spoiler who uses illegal tactics

          Fury is levels above Ward.

fury grew up in a boxing family and could't beat david price in the amateurs. ward won a gold medal. there are levels in boxing, all right.

you all call deontay wilder a bum. he had fury on the deck twice, once literally on his back and supine. did you call sergey kovalev a bum?

Again there’s a reason ward didn’t reach superstardom or atleast the level of fury’s or even just wilder’s popularity today despite of actually achieving more.

That’s because he is boring AF both inside and outside the ring. And was very dirty. It’s like 10 clinch per minute kinda fight. I can’t even watched a replay of his fights. All of those headbutts ffs.
His best win is from a low blow too.

I came here trying to give credit to both guys, but you triggered me..

At the moment it's Ward and it's not even kinda close. For Fury to even remotely come into that debate he would have to win another 4 title fights in a row impressively against the very best options including AJ.

Good question, Ward has great wins over Kovalev and Froch, and has world class wins over the likes of Dawson, Abraham, and Kessler

But Fury ended the historic reign over Wladimir Klitchko, and what was almost a historic reign of Deontay Wilder, Wilder had 10 title defenses coming into the fight over a 5 year reign, Klitchko had 18 title defenses during a decade long reign

Fury is more impressive but it's still close because of the fighters Ward beat during his day

Huh? He heat the best of the divisions he was in twice. Cleaned out 168 completely and beat several HOF'ers pretty easily. So far Fury has one win over a 39 year old legend and a bum titlist. (Wilder, per his detractors)

Fury is 2-0-1 in title fights and that simply doesn't compare to Ward at all. Dumb comparison altogether.
