Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis, Leo Santa Cruz In Play For June In LA On PPV

The summer schedule in the sweet science is shaping up to be a scintillating one, and it could have a blockbuster scorcher in Tinseltown if everything goes according to plan. Gervonta Davis told krikya360.com that he's in negotiations with Leo Santa Cruz for a fight to take place this June in Los Angeles. The fight could be a pay-per-view on Showtime and take place at the Staples Center, according to two sources aware of the negotiations.

I'm hoping this is at 135. We want that 5th weight division strap!

Tank 'yung doe' but he's not young enough to drag fighters up a few weight classes. Who's he gonna fight next, inoue?? Maybe this is the new haymon plan, his best fighters lose if they fight people around the top of their weight classes so from now on they have to drag up a way smaller fighter for fights so they look like 'monsters' and the pbc fans go home happy and don't have to spend weeks in therapy struggling to come to terms with what happened because there favourite fighters got exposed. There will be more fights like spence v garcia, tank v santa cruz, tank v Gamboa coming up on pbc.

I’m struggling to think of a fight that was less deserving of a PPV.

I'm glad they pushed it back to June to let this corona crap pass over.

If Leo knows what's best for him, the fight will be @ 130! He should be fighting Tank or GRJ, whichever agrees to 130! "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems!"

The Politics should be interesting. Davis is a Mayweather fighter. It's obvious Haymon has to be bow down to Floyd's demands for this fight, regardless if LSC has brought proper branding for PBC since 2015.

Everything will be in favor for Davis because he's Mayweather's investment. It's impossible for Haymon to act neutral with this. Though it would a pleasure to see this fight have controversy as I'm foreseeing a proper Draw. If that were to happen, does Mayweather care for the PBC experiment? It's basically Floyd and Haymon having fun with PBC since its stardom. Badou Jack having draws is like Floyd having a regular day betting.
