    Comments Thread For: Kessler Becomes Second Boxer To Enter Danish Sports Hall of Fame

    Yesterday The Viking Warrior, Mikkel Kessler, became the second professional boxer to be admitted into the Danish Sports Hall of Fame. Kessler was, in 2006, named Athlete of the Year after he had beaten Markus Beyer and was at the time both WBC and WBA super middleweight champion of the world. He lost in 2007 to Joe Calzaghe but beat Carl Froch in 2010 and was for a number of years one of the best fighters in the world.

    A top boxer in his prime, had his career ruined by numerous headbutts and elbows by Andre the Billy goat Ward.

    Hometown ref called them all accidental.

      A fine, world class boxer.

      Andre Ward schooled him apart from the accidental headbutts. But there is no shame in that, Ward was one of the best of that era.

        No doubt Ward was an ATG when it came to headbutting.

        Should have been charged with assault.

        That is why he never left home, would not been able to headbutt, hold and elbow without getting DQed

            Andre Ward is one of the most overrated fighters of all time. He was good yes but no where near as good as some might suggest and he was as dirty as they come.

                Don't try to take away from all the good things that Andre Ward did in that fight.

                He won because of way more than some accidental headbutts.
