Comments Thread For: Lara: I'm Still The Same Fighter, Just A Couple Of Adjustments

Erislandy Lara acknowledges that he may never fully return to the boxer of old. At the same time, it doesn't necessarily mean he's an old boxer. The 36-year old Cuban export is back on the title stage following a two-round wipeout of Mexico's Ramon Alvarez in their secondary title fight last Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn. The win was his first in nearly two years, having suffered a heartbreaking 12-round loss to then-unbeaten Jarrett Hurd in their title unification bout last April and then fighting undefeated Brian Castao to a draw in their secondary title fight this past March.

Lara did what he had to do against Alvarez, I appreciate his resume, he has always taken on the best of the best it's impressive. He is in his final years so keen to see him make the most of it.

If Lara continues with this animal like approach , actually fighting not just boxing he’s gonna be one exciting fughin boxer
I must admit I really enjoyed his two last fights
Hopefully Father Time doesn’t catch up to him to soon

Lara is 1 guy who truly is down to fight anyone. He even wanted smoke with ggg back when nobody else did. Now that this trainer situation is sorted out, time for lara vs Charlo.

Most def, would like to see this fight! Hopefully Lara's last two outings have drawn the attention of broadcasters willing to pay for such an event.

I thought they were friends? I believe Charlo said he would never fight Lara? But I also thought Lara said he would??

Lara's just getting a bit older. I don't necessarily think it's him wanting to be more crowd friendly, but rather his legs are starting to diminish a bit. That means he's going to be prone to stand stationary more often than not. That's a good thing if he meshes it well with technique and skill like he has shown he can. I'm excited for Lara because I don't think he's done as a world class fighter. He's just a little older but like he said, he's made a couple adjustments.

I remember back in the day.. First time seen her on Lara, he was fighting Paul Williams.. Then got brutally robbed. I went broke.. Recovered.. Then I didn't bet on him again till he fought Canelo.. Then he got robbed again.. went broke!.. Never bet on him again "Until" he fought Hurd! Three strikes! I'm out! And broke!!! Lmao.
