Why do people rate Canelo's resume so high, even relative to GGG's?

nobody has sigged it yet, go for it LMAO
This kid is clueless. I am on here as a different name but I bought a new phone and can't remember my password or email it's under lol.
It's Redmyth79. You and I see a lot of the same things if my memory serves me right.😉
The post says it all. Just look at the Champions Canelo has fought and beat including HOF, vs GGG has Canelo which beat him twice and Jacobs which in most eyes think Jacobs won by a round as well. At worse it should have been a draw.

Alarez beat the cream of English boxing. Everybody remembers the Khan KO and no denying the Khan Man looked liked Mr Pakistan at a ready 155 pounds.
Don't forget Liam "Beefy" Smith probably the most avoided Jr MW Champ at the time.
Who can deny Canelo made history when he moved up to face that 168 monster, Rocky Fielding.
People may call them paper champs but they're still champs and possible future HOF's.

        ignore the shlt-talking muppet

he stated that Canelo could have lost to the " killers " on lil'G resume..... so I asked him which one of those "killers" could have beaten Canelo..... but, *crickets*

he stated that Lemieux and Murray are better than Cotto and Lara

then, when I replied to his " top 10 " question..... more, *crickets*

        check out my sig

this was my reply to his " top 10 " question..... but, *crickets*

I will not discuss mediocrity... only excellence

Golovkin simply does not have 10 wins worth mentioning

when discussing supposedly elite fighters, it is only necessary to consider world-class opponents... there is no need to count scrubs

scrub-counting is for casuals, and for Golovkin fans

the measure is... how high is the ceiling, not... how low is the floor

        Golovkin.....
        - Jacobs *
        - Murray
unlike most, I will not include Lemieux... because he is not a genuine world-class fighter

while some may argue that Martin Murray was not a genuine world-class fighter, there were genuine world-class elements to his game

I actually think that Murray was MORE than just a " good " win..... and like I said earlier..... good wins, and below, do not really matter..... because we are not discussing "good", we are discussing "better than good"..... Murray was a very good win imo, so I will include him

just trying to be fair... or at least honest, with my opinions

perhaps you should be more honest... because your ranking and praise of some of the scrubs that G fought was quite frankly a little ridiculous... you definitely should not have mentioned Vanes LMAO

        Canelo.....
        - Golovkin
        - Cotto
        - Mosley
        - Lara*
        - Trout
        - Jacobs

FOUR of those guys are BETTER than anyone on Golovkin's resume... TWO of those guys are better than Golovkin himself... so like a number of posters have already pointed out, this really is a silly discussion

        also...

Canelo's 2nd-tier opponents are also slightly better than Golovkin's 2nd-tier opponents... although Golovkin likely fought more of them

        the best are probably...

        Canelo.....
        - Chavez
        - Kirkland
        - Angulo
        - Cintron
        Golovkin.....
        - Lemieux
        - Geale
        - Rubio
        - Monroe
        - Macklin

and NO, I will not mention welterweight opponents when discussing the resume of a middleweight... for EITHER of those guys

        now...

list me the names of world-class opponents who Canelo could have fought, but CHOSE not to

        I will start with G...

        Golovkin.....
        - Lara
        - Cotto
        - Mora
        - Saunders
        - Andrade
        - Charlo
        - Derevyanchenko
I excluded Golovkin avoiding Canelo at 155, because he fought Canelo twice, albeit at 160..... if you attempt to include Golovkin in your list of opponents who Canelo ducked, then I will add Canelo to my list of opponents who Golovkin ducked

I did not include Ward, even though I 100% know that Golovkin RAN from that fight..... simply because they fought in different divisions

Lara was willing to fight Golovkin at 160

I included Derevyanchenko because that was a 100% duck, and because despite being unheralded he ran Danny Jacobs pretty close

we have done the hit's... so here are G's misses...

give me your list of Canelo's misses...

        Golovkin.....
        - Lara
        - Cotto
        - Mora
        - Saunders
        - Andrade
        - Charlo
        - Derevyanchenko

GGG clearly at very best got a Draw with Jacobs! I can care less how they scored it because they scored it to get a Canelo vs GGG fight.
Canelo as one judge had it 8-4 on Jacobs truly. I gave the Jacobs fight as I said best a draw but I thought Jacobs truly won by a round.
As for my 10 best wins on what and who.
I've seen so many what are you asking?
I mean go back to Floyd vs Castillo#1 and tell me your score on it. Then Oscar vs Tito, Oscar vs Shane#2.
Hell I want to see how you score some fights but from what your saying you go just on aggression regardless if punches missed etc..
          It's called effective aggression.
No I'm asking you for your top 10 Canelo wins and top 10 GGG wins.

I had Floyd-Castillo as a legit 7-5 either way type fight with a slight edge to Floyd.

Honestly man...no offense sincerely...but you seem either incapable or unwilling to have a real boxing discussion...your insistence on trying to twist my words around and seeming inability to understand pretty basic things I've said is odd lol...I just don't really have much else to say to ya...I can explain it to ya but I can't understand it for ya

You got that right. Alvarez AKA"The Guadalajara Guillotine" cut a path of destruction through Baja resulting in 32 wins without a defeat. Sure, alot of those cholos were making their pro debut but those vaqueros were used to wrestling bulls and sh/t. :-)

Even without the two GGG-Canelo fights with each other...let's just look at some names:

Canelo's good wins - Trout (never scored/watched it all), Lara (I had Canelo 7-5), Jacobs (7-5), Smith (good KO), Cotto (shot and at a higher than best weight...but good win), Kirkland (KO), Angulo (KO), Fielding (KO).

Canelo's OK wins - Lopez, Cintron, Chavez, Mosley, Baldomir, Khan.

GGG's good wins (besides Jacobs all KOs) - Jacobs (8-4 imo), Murray, Brook, Lemieux, Monroe, Geale, Macklin, Proksa, Ouma, Stevens, Vanes.

GGG's OK wins (all KOs) - Rosado, Adama, Rubio, Ishida, Rolls.

GGG has more good wins imo...and more dominant in most of those wins...winning by KO and hardly losing a round...and more OK/Good wins total, almost all by KO...compared to quite a few decisions for Canelo.

That's without even getting into the 2 Canelo-GGG fights which I felt were pretty straightforward wins for GGG...outlanding Canelo in 18/22 rounds (2 ties)...that's 80+% of the rounds that he was outlanding Canelo...pretty impressive on that for sure.

So genuinely - what am I missing?

Edit - not to mention the clear loss Canelo has to Mayweather...but I don't really slight him for that...he was pretty green then and it was not an ideal weight for him.
                    - -Both great records for their eras, but this being boxing, haters gonna hate!

you said..... that you do not see any real difference between Golovkin beating Murray and Lemieux, and Canelo beating Cotto and Lara
