Oh for fack sake! What is it with all you damn fools!!!
    The man lost.
No, it’s not the end, why? He hasn’t had 30 fights yet and has one loss, big deal!
A loss is a loss, yes! A shock defeat but ALL heavyweights are a single shot from disaster. Fact.
Excuse? Reason? Most likely a freeze job, we’ve seen him get off the floor and box to a knockout of the the big klit who reigned for years (albeit in the Ukraine or Germany) as the champ.
Povotkin is not easy pickings and neither is whyte, parker and others.
It’s not the first time somebody has been beaten by the lesser “looking” fighter. We all know muscles don’t make you invincible and if anything, it showed the man had and HAS the will to win so fair play to him.
I see Joshua destroy Ruiz within 5 of the rematch.
I did notice Ruiz management indicating some discomfort with a uk fight in their language of “a” rematch and not the obligatory rematch.
He will be stripped if he does not follow to rule, Hearn will have made sure of that.
Also, he was given the chance (which he took) and all the glamour that goes with his “chance” is the attached rematch clause already exercised by team Joshua.
I believe they will delay and fack about before either, relenting or vacating to avoid being stripped.
This was purely a freeze job, an embarrassing night for Anthony Joshua which will inevitably make wilder face him next year.

Perhaps against Ortiz but remember Fury was Ko'd before the Ref helped him. If Joshua is the Old Joshua then I favor him but otherwise he gets KO'd by Wilder.

I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned about Anthony Joshua. He'll be the favorite in the rematch.

If Eddie isn't a boxing guy then boxing needs more non-boxing guys cuz Eddie is putting on better fights than Bob is. Any promoter who's getting his guys beat is a fan of mine. Bob nurses his guys along for years. Its good for making guys title holders & stars, but its bad for entertainment value. What good is a star if you have bored lotsa mfers for years in the process of building a star in bs fights?

"Nobody could beat Mike Tyson until Buster Douglas. Then guys like Evander Holyfield realised that they would have a good chance with Mike because they weren’t intimidated"

Bob don't know what he's talking about. Holyfield wasn't intimidated with Tyson well before Buster beat him.
Bob disgusts me. I don't really have a problem with any other promoter but Arum. He's done so much to kill fights fans want to see.

Agreed on the Holyfield comment too, that's revisionist history. Holyfield had no problem going to war for 3 fights against Bowe.

I also question Bob's comments on Ruiz's power. I'd like to see Bob take a combo from Ruiz to the grill, let's see if Bob says he doesn't have power after that. Speed kills, especially from the punches you don't see.

Ruiz gets 2 fights under Haymon's guidance & he gets a televised fight against Dimitrenko then a title shot. Arum makes good points about building a fighter back up but Joshua has been on the world level for several years now. Joshua has been in 8 world title fights so he doesn't need a bunch of journeymen tune ups. Maybe if he loses the rematch your look at a few lighter fights but until he loses again you go after the rematch.
Problem is Joshua has been fighting Journeyman in his world title fights. I mean he won a title from Charles Martin.

Ruiz is not even a top guy, and he destroyed AJ.

You guys are not realizing AJ got taken to school by a non top 10 HW.

AJ is not world class level.

That is not likely to happen because 1) Joshua is a slow starter and 2) Wilder comes out of the corner throwing big bombs.
By that reasoning Wilder would have destroyed Klitchsko but for some reason.... he never went after that fight. He could have 4 belts before Fury or Joshua.

I agree it seems likely that Wilder will KO Joshua but we still want to see the fight to see what happens. AJ always had that dodgy chin and he's beat some good fighters. If Ruiz's chin was average he would have been Ko'd in the 3rd.

With the cash he earns and the status he has, he does have to rematch him.

And if he doesn’t win at the least he probably needs to take a few years off
