I wonder who they can get for Canelo who can produce to the level of dazn actually making money off him rather than costing them money.
I don't see an opponent in the works tbh; maybe Errol Spence Jr in a couple years (Porter in August, Thurman-Pacquiao winner on PPV, Danny Garcia on PPV, a fight with the WBC/WBA/IBF 154lb champion on PPV).

DAZN isn't likely to make money on Canelo's deal, but that problem is compounded by the simple reality that DAZN doesn't have the slew of quality fighters under Alvarez (who they can use Canelo's hype to launch into attractions in their own right).

This is a side note, but Showtime/CBS hit the Floyd deal out of the park because 1) they were able to more than cover the money they guaranteed to Floyd and 2) they were able to use Floyd's starpower to also launch Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Deontay Wilder, Keith Thurman, Errol Spence Jr, Marcos Maidana, Adrien Broner, and a host of other fighters that audiences were interested in seeing.

Thats the difference between GGG and the rest of the boxing chumps out there that Canelo can face.

GGG vs Canelo had a $27m livegate and was a sellout, thats what you call starpower.

GGG vs Jacobs did 3.7M in live gate revenue and didn't sell out. Canelo fights that same Jacobs and did almost 9M. GGG vs Rolls isn't close to selling out and they damn near giving tickets away for free. If GGG did sell out his next fight, which it won't it, wouldn't even crack 2M in revenue. Canelo is the one moving the Needle not GGG. They both just fought Jacobs and you see the massive difference.

The only other PPV fighter fought in Vegas earlier this year and drew 6M and that was with Pacquiao and Broner who are each both bigger draws then Jacobs and those 2 combined did less then Canelo did.

Jacobs vs Peter Quillen (his biggest fight before he fought GGG) they never released the live gate numbers because the attendance was so terrible drawing just 8K in attendance and that number includes thousands of free comps they gave out and that was in his own hometown.

Canelo is competing against himself nobody else is doing anywhere near these numbers.
          US figures:

          400k Xs $75 PPV + 6mil gate = 36mil for Manny Broner

600k Xs $20 +1 month subscription (aint no one paid $100) + 9mil gate = 21mil for Canelo Jacobs *If there are no cancelations that's only 33mil for 2 months (most will cancel after GGG Rolls anyways)

Pac is still the biggest draw and the Thurman fight will prove it... I'm estimating 1mil at $75 at least. If Manny claims this will be his retirement fight, upwards of 2mil.

600K isn't the total subscriptions lol it did 600K live viewers but way more then that in subscriptions. It made over 48M in revenue from new subscriptions according to ESPN. much more then the 36M Pacquiao/broner generated. Canelo did 57M in subscriptions + live gate.

If Triple L has so many fans like you & that Clown Boxing Logic says he does then why did he only do 170,000k against Jacobs?🤣

lol dazn thought too far ahead on that deal with canelo. Gotta say he is doing his part as of the second finger under his contract. They gave all that money to him bankin on subscriptions. Not gonna happen. Too many stream services out there for way less to be just locked down to dazn. Long as he keep taking big fights he will be ok now as far as dazn they won’t be signing big money contracts for too long

Or he's gonna need to look like a whole new guy once he moves up to 160.
The problem is who knows who mungia is? The vast majority of Canelo fans are casual Mexican American fans who tune into boxing twice a year. Had hbo stayed in the game and mungia fought on a network or channel most people had he would have been noticed. The problem with dazn is you can’t build a star on an app, they already have to be a star.

Although both of these guys have me on ignore, they both know that the Oracle predicted DAZN’s success. It’s what Neo and Morpheus been saying all day errday.

Props to Eff Pandas for looking out for me too. Real recognize real.

Yes....he is white....are you blind??? The boy is pale white with red hair? Being from Mexico doesn’t exclude one from being white. There is a considerable population of African descendants in the Yucatán area as well, and yes....they are black. Anyone who has spent a significant amount of time in Distrito Federal and Guadalajara can see the ruling wealthy class in Mexico is almost of purely Spanish and other european blood.
