Ortiz wants 10 million to fight Joshua, how much is actually realistic?

I thought I read Miller was getting 6.5, and Hearn said whomever is chosen to step in would get that amount. 10 mill? I don’t think that’s in the cards.

Ortiz is old, and taking a loss here would probably hurt his chances of getting the Wilder rematch or a fight with Fury. And in those fights, he would have the privilege of full training camps. Training camps for heavyweights can be up to 12 weeks, and he'll have less than 6 weeks for this one. You have to compensate him because this is a major risk to his health and career.
Considering that his fight with Wilder drew over 14,000 in NYC, he's the best available candidate for a big NYC-based fight. Plus, it was the most dramatic, action-packed fight of Wilder's career. If they sign this deal quickly and promote it properly going forward, it can be built into a bigger event than the original with Miller.
10 million seems fair considering the circumstances. But I would advise him to settle for 8 million.

I'd just take a cut of whatever they were gonna pay Miller and give it to Ortiz. Their options are pretty limited at this point if they want to keep that date. IDK if Micheal Hunter main eventing in Madison F'ing Square Garden is gonna cut it. Whyte already said no to 4 million guaranteed.
They're gonna end up spending some several million to get a credible opponent unless Whyte changes his mind on the money, or they say F*** it and decide to wheel Hunter out there for a few hundred K anyways, which will do nothing to move the needle for AJ's recognition in the USA.
