Golovkin was the #1 guy in his division, and up until a few hours ago he was supposed to destroy Alvarez, and he won the first fight easy and all that. Now he's just old lol. No one is saying that fighters don't diminish as they get older, but they can clearly still be elite, as Golovkin showed us. You're making excuses, and I don't need Google to show me that.
Earlier in the thread you were complaining about judges and how Golovkin was never getting a decision, then it was him pulling the trigger too late and being old PLUS the judges. Now you're trying to discredit older guys who managed to remain elite (as if nitpicking any resume is not easy), to prove the already well known fact that fighters slow down with age because...? I named 10 guys when you asked for 5 (most of them perched atop their divisions), so yeah, I don't see a need to continue. This'll be my last post on this. I can agree to disagree.
Show me where I said age was a factor tonight? I've had a beef with Vegas judges and Canelo since the Mayweather fight...and rightfully so. Discrediting? So stating facts is now discrediting. Here you go again, I pulled out examples of these fighters records. Don't change the narrative on me because you looked foolish dropping names and then got checked on them. Notice out of the three people I was having this age discussion with you are the only one still trying to win this argument. Golovkin should retire because he's only going to get slower and his stamina is going to keep going to s**t that is not an opinion that is a fact. I even used Floyd as quote about his own physical being. Him not pulling the trigger and being old never came out of my typing in ANY of my posts, please do not try to rewrite history. He lost tonight because he didn't stop his opponent, that's what i've said. He was not going to win on the card, that's what I actually said. The only time his age has come up is about retirement and his well being and how fighters detereorate fast at a certain age, that age being 35. You named ten guys out of a hundred years of documented fight history, well done. I guess that makes 35 peak athletic for people over 35 because you can name ten. Well done, and most of the guys you mentioned didn't beat anyone really elite. That's like saying the Mosley that Canelo beat was elite somehow and not a shell. Welcome to the real world, you cannot get concused for 20 plus years and be the same man. I don't know what universe you think you live in but the human body does not take that level of punishment well. Sergio Martinez elite after 35 told me everything I needed to know about the way you see things and that's a guy who had only been boxing 15 years at that point.

You can feel however you like about the guys I named, but like I said, they were all holding belts or ranked top 5 over 35, so I'm comfortable with my choices. I don't know what else "elite" means, outside of made up definitions to make them not so. You said Froch wasn't elite, with Bute, Kessler, and Groves, who were the only guys at 168 worth talking about at the time. I guess I should say something about you as a fan, but I'm not, because I'm a grown up.
I just mentioned the age thing to Hitking, it would be scary how much of each others lives these guys would've taken from each other if both fought in their primes. Oh I know mofo's on here will mention BHOP, Floyd, and Pacquaio as age not being a factor. Science and doctors disagree. I think most razor wire rounds just went to Canelo, I gave him some myself but I don't think he won but judges also have their personal likes.
In addition to that, you clearly said you wanted Golovkin to throw the uppercut, but he got it going too late. If I interpreted things incorrectly, my fault. As far as trying to win, I said agree to disagree lol.
No robbery here, i saw Canelo winning more rounds than GGG and he was the dictator of the fight.
Im GGG supporter but he lost tonight. Canelo fought a great fight and he did not run. Canelos speed was to mutch for GGG. Canelo is the new man at 160. Golovkin is not as sharp and powerful as a few years ago though. Hes clearly slipping and the younger freser Canelo took over the division now.
The only guy who would be an interesting opponent is Jacobs. He has a big size and reatch advantage and is maybe slick enough to be a threat for Canelo. Canelo would win a decision though. Maybe even knockout because Jacobs doesn't got that GGG granite-chin.
Rewatched it yer no robbery here very close but god Canelo has won me a ton of respect he was coming forward all night GGG was on the backfoot for most of it.
