Former British lightweight champion Scotty Cardle (22-2-1, 7 KOs) has parted ways with trainer Joe Gallagher. The 28-year-old, who made his pro debut with Matchroom and Gallagher in 2012, has lost two of his last three fights with a six-round points victory over Lee Connelly sandwiched in between. Cardle's two-year reign as British champion ended at the hands of Robbie Barrett (MD 12), April 2017, and was then demolished in two rounds by current British 135lbs champion Lewis Ritson in March this year.

Last few results were more down to being a very limited boxer, to be honest. Nowt to do with Gallagher. Reminds me of when Matthew Hatton got rid of his trainer after Canelo beat him. Sometimes fighters just need someone to blame that's not themselves.

He's never had the power to back up his aggressive style. He got away with it early on in his career but Ritson walked through him and that must have spooked him badly.
