Comments Thread For: HBO's Lampley: Mayweather-McGregor a Scam, Rematch in Play

HBO Boxing broadcast analyst Jim Lampley is convinced that former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 27 KOs) will return to the ring once again - likely for a rematch with UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Back in August, the 40 year old Mayweather snapped a two year retirement to face McGregor, who was making his pro debut as a boxing, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

is it not a scam? floyds career was mostly a scam and well promoted cherry picking but at least he was fighting boxers even if they werent that great. now hes just picking any random celebrity or sports figure. he cherry picked so hard he cherry picked himself out of boxing

Lampley never spoke out when HBO did Mayweather PPVs with Victor Ortiz, Juan Manuel Marquez (moving up from 135), Mayweather Baldomir, Mayweather Judah (coming off a Baldomir loss)

If Floyd make another comeback for a re-match with McGregor then boxing as an honest sport is truly over.

LOL I hope he is wrong about this. The fight was somewhat competitive but Mac can't get any better. He needs years of time in boxing to fight at that level. Jeez.

If people buy this again, especially the Irish, than they are dumber than I ever imagined.

If this becomes a reality, I don't see how anyone could defend Floyd or remain a fan. It Is bad enough that he had any fans at all after fighting a guy making his boxing debut, but to fight him for a second time while admitting that his main objective Is to **** his fans for the most money possible. The proof Is obvious with the $100 price tag.

Floyd fans have to be feeling like one of his women. They continue getting beat yet keep coming back.
