Comments Thread For: Geale Sides With Golovkin To Beat Canelo, Breaks Down Fight

Former world middleweight champion Daniel Geale has backed Gennady Golovkin to preserve his perfect record when he faces Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in their blockbuster showdown this month. While all eyes were on the megafight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and UFC champion Conor McGregor last month, this is the bout boxing enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating as the undefeated Golovkin puts his IBF, IBO, WBA (Super) and WBC middleweight belts on the line against Alvarez at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 16.

Jacob's had the height, stamina, and legs to frustrate Triple G a little bit.. I just don't see any this fight playing out the same way, Alvarez will be there and easy to find. Golovkin will wear him down in the later rounds,, he's a different Beast compared to inactive Chavez Jr, Green Liam Smith or a washed-up Cotto

That's the great thing about this fight, you go all in with one. No need for childish resume bashing or name calling as any resume can be tear down and ripped to shreds, just looking at both fighters now you either go all out for GGG or Canelo.

usually when fighter a who lost to fighter b picks fighter b in a big fight the forum fanboys say fighter a is just doing that because he lost to him and wants to make himself look better....if they dislike fighter b

in this situation i expect the golovkin fanboys to say "geale is a smart man..he knows...he got destroyed by golovkin"

this is the same guy that cotto destroyed in 4? welterweight miguel cotto?

We can all agree at least that Pirog would have dominated both of these two and Mayweather at Middleweight?

Canelo goes 12 with everyone though, including Mathew Hatton at 154

So Canelo is going to do what to GGG? Unless GGG is old and drained - GGG is going to dominate Canelo so badly that people will say McGregor did better against May...

              ok?? and??

that very well might happen.....what does that have to do with what i said?

canelo has 0 wins against middleweights.....when ggg fights elite fighters they are guys that started at ww and move ......when he fights middleweights they are usually of the C/B-caliber....the one time he fought a talented mw he struggled and his fans whined all day about that guy being "too big" and its "not fair".....

this will be golovkins "signature" win if he does indeed win...cept its a guy that has 0 wins against middleweights

you're not wrong but on the same token, I think we can all agree that Hopkins is the top mw of the past generation and his best wins at mw happened to be vs welterweights in Trinidad and Oscar. Haglers biggest wins were vs hearns and Duran. That's just how things work out sometimes. Doesn't diminish the quality of the win.

It's an interesting point of view. I don't necessarily disagree but maybe some nuances are in order; A few years back, when Piron was about to face GGG, I was thinking it was a 50-50 fight. But he would have beaten Canelo for sure back then, because of the combination of his legs, awkward groove and power.

As for Mayweather, he wouldn't have come close to him; not enough money and fame for the risk.

Today, well, it's hard to speculate, since he's not in the race anymore.
