And you missed my overall point in the rant if these guys active in the game right now would quit playing around we might actually have the next PPV star killing the game right now. Instead we got a retired boxer vs an MMA guy happening before GGG vs Canelo.

D- trolling. No one says fl#mo or p#ctard in 2017 except dummies bro.

Right. Boxing just started acting right 2 years after Floyd retired. All this money out there & these dummies been marinating fights til 8 months before Floyd comes outta retirement to break his old records. Come the f#ck on boxing. Quit playing.

And respect for 2017. Its been a good year, but Floyd has been gone since the Manny fight really cuz none of us gave a f#ck about the Berto fight. And no one took Floyd's spot in all that time yet no all these dummies are crying like Floyd is taking the money & ruining the sport they been coasting in since he's been gone. Canelo is fighting his first live body in Sept. since before Floyd left iirc. Wtf.

I'm telling you brother its happening. It don't got sh^t to do with you, me or anyone on this site or anyone on MMA sites. This fight is big beyond boxing, MMA & combat sports. Mfers who've never ordered a combat sports PPV will order this fight. The non-sports fan interest in this fight is ******ed. Thats why Manny vs Floyd did ****** numbers. Thats why this fight will do ****** numbers.

Boxing fans will buy ~600k+. MMA fans will buy ~700k+. Sports fans will buy 1.2M+. And people that won't know if they are fighting in a cage or a ring til they turn on the TV will buy ~2.5M+.

Floyd vs Manny had 5 years of hype

This fights success or failure has absolutely nothing to do with boxing fans or MMA fans. Idk why some of you guys are so dense about this stuff.

The broader the reach of a fight the more buys it will have. Most fights ONLY reach hardcore boxing fans. Some fights reach to casual boxing fans. Some reach further to sports fans. And some fights reach all the way out to people who never watch boxing except when its some huge name in an event fight. Thats this fight.

Obviously each of those pools of people get bigger. And each of those pools of people have a certain % of buy rate. Boxing fans, hardcore & casual, will probably be 15%-20% of the people who watch this fight. The other 80% (4M+) will be sports fans or people who never watch boxing. You guys who don't think this fight doesn't do insane numbers don't grasp the interest beyond boxing & MMA that this fight has.
No matter what it's not getting 5 million buys. Ill give you all my points if it does if not match me with the same points.

Look the success of this fight is going to depend on how many mma fans buy it and how many casual boxing fans buy it.

Look dude the May-PAC fight was so successful at getting 4 million buys because it was super anticipated and the WHOLE sports world was interested.

This fight will generate buys for sure, im not saying it won't. I just know it won't do the 5 mill you predict. I say about 2 to 2 1/2 million will be more like the number.

The WHOLE sports world is not on fire for this fight like it was for may-PAC. That's why it won't do these crazy numbers you Floyd fanboys predict.

Take your $100, put it in Mayweather, get 18% return (that's what a Mayweather win is paying over here at least), and go and spend some time with your family instead. No need to watch it - just wait for the Bleacher Report notification on your phone.

          5 million? No way.
I think you might be surprised, I think it might come close to or beat Pac-May as much as it hurts to say. There'll a huge pre-fight hype, both are huge names, that mixed with the fact that there are MMA fans that think it will be competitive and boxing fans that will pay solely to see how one sided it will be, its the perfect opportunity for people to throw house parties too, all those things considered I think the numbers will be big.

I'm in the UK so the PPV's are a lot cheaper here but I haven't missed a Floyd in a long time, and as much as I think its a mismatch I'll probably end up paying to see it when the time comes.

$100? For someone from the UK where the pay per view model is clearly quite different that's just obscene.

It best have one hell of an undercard else there's no chance i'll be paying for it. That said i'm pretty sure casuals / sports fans will pay for it irrelevant of the cost.

I'd argue that it wasn't 5yrs of hype so much as a 5yr cooldown period.

I actual think Floyd vs Manny does better numbers the sooner it had happened from about 2011 on. So Conor vs Floyd might not actually have been in position next month to break this PPV record if Manny vs Floyd happened when more people where hot for it in 2011 for example & it had did 6M or 7M buys insteed of just 4M.

If you remember Manny's PPV numbers had dwindled quite a bit & the KO L to Marquez definitely killed some buys.

Floyd must owe more than we than we thoughts to the IRS, oh wait I forgot he is doing this fight for the fans cause we demanded it.

The amount seems way overpriced but people will pay it. How many though is the question? It depends how many viewers were turned off by the Mayweather-Pacquaio dance. Watch it in a pub or live stream if curious. It could be the greatest upset in boxing history, or most likely obviously not. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I don't see 5 million buys for this fight. I was thinking 3.5 million
